Two day conference on Deaf-Blind Services in Salisbury Maryland

Deaf Independent Living Association (DILA) and the Helen Keller National Center for the Deaf-Blind (HKNC) are sponsoring a two day conference on Deaf-Blind Services. This conference is being held on November 16 & 17th at DILA, 806 Snow Hill Rd, Salisbury, MD.  On Thursday, November 16 from 3:00pm-6:00pm there will be a sensitivity training for the Deaf Blind community entitled, Deaf-Blind 101. Then on Friday, November 17 from 8:00am-4:00pm there will be a workshop on the Fundamentals of Effective Support Services for the Deaf Blind Worker as well as multiple breakout sessions that each person can choose to attend. The main presenters HKNC and Blind Industries Services of Maryland (BISM). Topics for the sessions range from the services and opportunities that are available through BISM to how to support individuals that are deaf-blind. Breakfast and Lunch will be provided for the attendees on Friday, sponsored by the Maryland Developmental Disabilities Administration. Tickets will be $25 per person for the two day event.  Limited vendor space still available.  For more information on how to register please call DILA at 410-742-5052.  Registration ends November 1.
